Is a brick ledge necessary if I want to install thin veneer on my project?

No, a brick ledge may be used; however, it is not necessary. The material adheres directly to the structure and does not float on the slab. If you do choose to have a brick-ledge, make sure that the depth is limited to the thickness of the stone, which ranges from ¾” to 1 ¼”.
